Four Month Licensure by Endorsement
The Four-Month Licensure by Endorsement Program is designed to prepare experienced maternity care provides for careers as Florida Licensed Midwives. The program focuses on that art of out-of-hospital birth, equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be a safe independent practitioner.

Course work is both academic and clinical. With a strong emphasis on the laws and rules that govern practice as a Florida Licensed Midwife. In accordance with Florida statutes, licensure by endorsement students must perform ten supervised prenatal examinations, and act as the primary midwife at five supervised births. Practicum Hours
Each woman’s birth experience is different and unique. Knowing this, the exact number of hours required to attend the mandated number of birth experiences will vary. Students must understand that the time spent at a birth may be in addition to clinic hours listed in the curriculum.

This program provides midwifery education to qualified internationally trained midwives and out of state licensed midwives, updating their previously acquired midwifery education in the supervision and facilitation of the process of normal labor and childbirth, including the provision of parental and postpartum care.

Resumé writing is stressed heavily in the last part of any program. Your instructor may ask you to come to school prior to your appointment. This is so that you can ask any last minute questions you might have.
